RESPONSIBILITIES
Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
The Manager Products Delivery role involves leading the Mobile Money products development, strategy & life cycle abetted by monitoring and evaluation of performance, Quality control and taking corrective action when needed whilst implementing the Mobile Money Services product roadmap and delivering Business Performance goals and targets. The role maintains liaison with Group Fintech Products & Services team, as and when required.
Main Job Functions:
• Develop and implement a MoMo product development strategy including planning, design, prototyping, testing, documentation, and production movement that aligns with the company's overall business objectives and goals.
• Agile Projects delivery, supervision and management of inhouse & third-party MFS Products and Services providers.
• Design processes and procedures to guide & support testing, implementation, and launch of new Mobile Money digital products, applications & services.
• Responsibility to consume & implement product design process coupled with Quality Assurance.
• Accountable to contribute to Mobile Money's overall strategic goals through quality software and application development that meets and exceeds the intent & design of the various applications.
Responsibility to oversee, manage and report on the below portfolios within the Mobile Money Ambition verticals:
• Insure-Tech
• Payments & eCommerce
• Marketplace
• Bank-Tech
• Remittance
• Responsible for developing, presenting product roadmaps, business cases, and product positioning documents whilst managing projects and programmed focused on design & creation of products to meet customer needs and requirements against strategic business objectives.
• Accountable to ensure that all programmed projects are delivered as per the timelines and budgets in accordance with the design principles while meeting or exceeding MTN MoMo quality standards.
• Responsibility to manage risk and release through configuration management, patch management, and version control (i.e., Git)
• Liable to evaluate & conduct product performance analysis on new/old products and instigate corrective action when needed through enhancements, and customization against agreed KPIs and SLA’s
• Responsibility to oversee product budgeting and forecasting, coordination with cross-functional teams such as engineering, sales, marketing, and customer service to track metrics and ensure measurable success.
• Monitoring Mobile Money Products, applications & digital services’ performance, i.e., uptime, penetration, and usage, and provide periodic written reports/feedback and responding to customer feedback.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders (e.g. external partners, vendors, and suppliers) with the different cross-functional teams involved in developing and managing new and existing digital Mobile Financial Services Products
• Establishing best practices and standards for products & application delivery to effectively support sales and other stakeholders to keep them abreast of the latest products and market information in the digital, mobile & smart applications space.
• Review product functionality and channel feedback where necessary to meet market requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Certification in Project management
Experience:
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management, telecommunications, insurance, banking, mobile money, or software engineering
• Managerial track record of 3-4 years or more; with at least 3 years’ experience in telecommunications, software engineering, API & Microservices design, development and management, business critical applications design and development or platform management
• At least 2 years of experience in telecommunications, product development/agile project management, customer services, or marketing.
Knowledge & Training:
• Excellent Advanced Project management & delivery knowledge and Quality Assurance
• Good understanding of software and solution architecture
• Technology proficiency with data mining & excellent analytical skills.
• Strong leadership skills with excellent interpersonal skills
• Entrepreneurial spirit, self-driven and ability to motivate a fast-paced team.
• Work experience across diverse cultures and geographies
• Flexibility and ability to handle stress with good planning and organization skills.
• Excellent Strategic Planning & Business analytical skills + Pricing
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to use initiative and multi-task while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work proactively with minimal supervision.
• Ability to self-manage a diverse workload and deadline.
• Experience in managing IT delivery teams.
