JOB DETAILS:
Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences; or Social Work and Social Administration; or Development Studies; or Public Administration and Management; or Business Administration (Management option); or Arts; or Law plus a Masters Degree in Development Studies; or Public Administration and Management; or Management; or Business Administration (Management option); or Law from a recognized University / Institution. Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Protection; or Social Development; or Social Justice will be an added advantage.

Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of nine (9) years relevant working experience in Programme Management, three (3) of which should have been served at Senior Officer level in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Secretary for performing the following duties:-
1. Coordinating, development and establishment of guidelines for research, planning and data management of the Secretariat so as to guide collaborating organizations concerning older persons;
2. Providing technical support and guidance to the District and lower Local Government Councils in management of programmes and activities of older persons;
3. Designing and implementing Special Interest Groups and Administration programmes;
4. Developing advocacy mechanisms to support initiatives for the Council of Older Persons;
5. Providing support in the review of policies and guidelines for implementation of programmes for Council of Older Persons;
6. Developing practices, programmes and activities for the, protection and participation activities for the elderly within overall economic development strategies;
7. Writing funding proposals and organizing fundraising programmes and drives to support the Council of Older Persons;
8. Networking with Special Interest Group Agencies and stakeholders for achievement of development objectives of the Council of Older Persons;
9. Managing the performance of staff in the Division;
10. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
