JOB DETAILS:
The position will be based in our Kampala Uganda offices and will report directly to the Regional COO based in Kenya.
The Regional Logistics Manager for East Africa will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the logistics and supply chain operations within the region. This role involves managing the road transportation, warehousing, and shipping processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of green coffee from farmer to the end customer. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of regional logistics challenges, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Your Responsibilities:
Logistics Strategy and Planning
• Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast shipments, plan inventory and optimize distribution networks.

Transportation Management
• Oversee transportation activities, including route planning, carrier selection, and freight cost management.
• Ensure compliance with regional transportation regulations and standards.

Vendor and Partner Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with logistics service providers, suppliers, and other key partners.
• Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to achieve cost savings and service excellence.

Risk Management and Compliance
• Monitor and mitigate logistics-related risks, including customs compliance, trade regulations, and security.
• Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements in each country within the region.

Performance Metrics and Reporting
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve logistics performance.
• Provide regular reports and analysis to management on logistics operations and cost-effectiveness.

Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization within the logistics and supply chain operations.
• Implement best practices to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Team Leadership and Development
• Lead and motivate a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance and support.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the logistics team.
Any other tasks as assigned by your immediate line manager.

Your Profile
• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in logistics and supply chain management within the East African region.
• Strong understanding of regional logistics regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Stakeholder engagement
• Ability to analyse complex logistics data and make data-driven decisions.
• Proficient in the use of logistics and supply chain management software.
• Leadership experience with a focus on team development and collaboration.
• Must have impeccable character and high integrity.
