JOB DETAILS:
As a Student Progression Advisor, you are called to serve with compassion and dedication, providing holistic guidance and support to students as they embark on their higher education journey. Rooted in Christian values, your role is not only to assist students in navigating the practical aspects of post-secondary education but also to nurture their spiritual growth and development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
• Student Advising: Through prayerful discernment, engage with students individually to understand their academic interests, career aspirations, and spiritual journey. Offer personalized guidance on post-secondary pathways that align with God’s plan for their lives.
• Application Assistance: Assist students in navigating the application process for colleges, universities, and vocational programs. Provide wisdom and support as they seek admission to institutions where they can thrive academically and spiritually.
• Financial Aid Counseling: Encourage students to trust in God’s provision as they explore financial aid options. Offer prayerful guidance and practical assistance in securing scholarships, grants, and other forms of financial support.
• Academic Planning: Collaborate with students to develop academic plans that honor God’s calling on their lives. Help them discern how their educational pursuits can be aligned with their faith and values.
• Career Development: Inspire students to seek God’s guidance as they explore potential career paths. Provide biblical insights into vocational discernment and help students understand how their talents and passions can be used to serve others and glorify God.
• Stay Rooted in Faith: Continually seek wisdom and discernment from God’s Word as you guide students through their educational journey. Foster an environment where faith and learning go hand in hand, encouraging students to grow spiritually as they pursue academic excellence.
• Community Engagement: Facilitate opportunities for students to connect with Christian communities on campus and explore ways to integrate faith into their college experience. Encourage students to seek mentors and peers who will support them in their spiritual growth.
• Prayer and Reflection: Dedicate time for prayer and reflection with students, inviting them to surrender their educational aspirations to God’s will. Offer pastoral care and spiritual guidance to help students navigate challenges and uncertainties with faith and resilience.
• Programmes: Administrate and be a key part of the design process for Amazima career guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, social work, or a related field is preferred.
• Active involvement in a Christian faith community and a personal commitment to Christian values.
• A strong understanding of educational pathways, career exploration, and academic requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills rooted in love and compassion.
• Knowledge of post-secondary education options.
• Ability to integrate faith into professional practice and support students in their spiritual growth.
• Previous experience in academic advising, counseling, or student services.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using educational software and online resources to support students’ academic and spiritual development.
• Strong project management skills.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines in student advising.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and student needs.
• Passion for promoting student success and contributing to a supportive campus community.
