JOB SUMMARY
The ideal candidate will work alongside passionate colleagues to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HSE programs, with a strong emphasis on training, compliance, and environmental standards. The role involves providing day-to-day HSE support across the organization to ensure compliance with statutory obligations and best practices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative Duties:
• Develop, update, and maintain HSE strategies, policies, and procedures (e.g., PTW, LOTO) to align with legislative changes and organizational goals.
• Coordinate and administer staff training and development programs; liaise with external training bodies as needed. Maintain the HSE Training Matrix and ensure consistent delivery of training initiatives.
• Assist in promoting a safety-first culture through change management and awareness programs.
• Implement safety policies, guidelines, and procedures under the direction of the OHS & Employee Relations Manager.
• Support ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) data collection, entry, and reporting.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Systems while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Risk Management:
• Conduct regular risk assessments and enforce preventive measures to minimize accidents and environmental pollution. Maintain and update a monthly Risk Register.
• Monitor workplace practices for safety compliance; identify and address non-conformities. Take immediate action on unsafe behaviours or processes.
• Ensure safety signage is properly displayed and maintained.
Incident Management:
• Investigate incidents to determine root causes and propose corrective actions. Maintain an Incident/Accident Report Register and prepare statistical reports for weekly updates to the CEHS Manager.
• Oversee worker compensation claims and provide required documentation.
Compliance & Procurement:
• Ensure all compliance certificates and licenses remain current. Maintain a Compliance Register and regularly report on status.
• Manage procurement related to HSE, ensuring proper documentation and updates for review.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Higher Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health Sciences, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant HSE experience.
• Nebosh Certification.
