JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
The QA officer – Microbiology lab provides support to the Quality Department by performing standard analyses on samples ranging from raw materials to semi-finished products, finished products and water. He/she shall be impartial when carrying out laboratory activities and ensure information is kept confidential as per 17025.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and authorizations:
• Carryout sampling, accurately prepare samples and conduct routine microbiological analyses on raw material, semi-finished, water and finished products daily as scheduled in collaboration with team leader and, as per Standard Operating Procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and maintain documents and records that conform to suitable regulatory requirements and report results on time.
• Monitoring of facility and environmental conditions to ensure validity of results.
• Assist lab team leader to prepare laboratory requests for consumables such as reagents and present requests for replacement of supplies if required.
• Maintain and manage clean and well-arranged work environment.
• Assist laboratory team leader to investigate non-conforming results and establish appropriate corrective actions.
• Assist team leader in investigating customer complaints and implementation of corrective actions.
• Operate various standard analytical instruments and perform basic maintenance according to established methods.
• Assist lab team leader with troubleshooting, advanced maintenance and calibration on analytical instrumentation.
• Authorized to review and write reports as per 17025.
• Support and assist Lab team leader and with improvement to analytical procedures using existing equipment.
• Contribute to development, modification of work instructions, procedures, protocol, as well as verification and validation of analytical methods.
• Assist Team leader in establishment, monitoring, certification and maintaining of proper Laboratory quality management system.
• Carry out analysis and interpretation of results as per system requirements.
• Contribute to the daily operational tasks and organization of the Analytical Lab and participate in corporate initiatives.
• Perform all work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner by following all OHS/EMS policies/procedures/programs.
• Implement documented control measures to prevent occurrence of impartiality and quality laboratory risks
• Data analysis and report writing to assist management in decision making.
• Perform any other task as per management request.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Laboratory Sciences, Microbiology, or other related field from a recognized university.
• Fresh with Three months satisfactory on Job Training or One year of experience on similar role in busy environment is preferred.
Key Requirements:
• Knowledge about media, basic microbiological testing and basic micro lab equipment.
• Familiar with basics of laboratory testing and basic test related to beverages.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• Training in Food Safety and Hygiene handling techniques.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
• Basic knowledge in management system implementation.
• Good in report writing and computer skills.
• Basic knowledge in management system implementation.
