Reporting To FARM MANAGER
Job Purpose Assist in providing hands-on labor for the performance of the farm
Key, Duties and Responsibilities
1. Tend to crops such as fruits, vegetables, grains, and nuts.
2. Works with animals (transporting, milking, feeding, mucking out and caring for sick or newborn livestock)
3. Ploughs fields, sows seeds, spreads fertilizers, sprays crops and harvests.
4. Maintains and cleans farm buildings and machinery
5. Trims hedges, digs and maintains ditches
6. Apply chemical solutions to plants to protect against disease or insects or to enhance growth.
7. Confer with managers to make operational decisions.
8. Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers
9. Builds agricultural structures, repairs farm buildings, fences and other structures.
10. Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops.
11. Harvest agricultural products
12. Load agricultural or forestry products into trucks or storage facilities.
Required Qualifications Uganda Certificate of Education
Tenure of Appointment 4-year Contract
Age Limit APPLICANTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED FIFTY-FIVE (55) YEARS OF AGE AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.
