Uganda Petroleum Institute, Kigumba (UPIK) is a Government Tertiary Institution which was created by the Statutory Instruments No. 31 of 2011, of the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act, 2001 as amended. The mandate of UPIK is to provide world-class education and training in fields related to Oil and Gas sector. Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba now invites applications from qualified Ugandans who fully meet the required job specifications and with the right personal attributes to occupy the following job positions in the institute's structure.
Process Laboratory Technician
Scale: U5
Duties
• To keep custody of laboratory equipment tools and materials.
• Enforce safety and hygiene of laboratory equipment, tools and operations
• Support lecturer in preparation of acquisition of laboratory practical training materials, equipment and tools.
• Support lecturers to prepare, plan and conduct practical training lessons.
• Support lecturer to conduct practical assessment. Perform any other official duties assigned by the relevant authorities
Person Specifications
• An Ordinary Diploma in Science Technology or Petroleum Engineering F
• Al least 2 years relevant work experience in an industrial laboratory,
• Possession of a higher Diploma in the related field is of added advantage
• international Qualifications (OPITO City & Guilds, etc.) is of added advantage
