JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose/Mission 
The Head of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) is a function line leader and is custodian of the end-to-end S&OP planning function and process for all markets of Engie Energy Access. This role is critical to Engie Energy Access in the control of working capital tied in inventory to reduce overall redundancy in inventories, without jeopardizing the sales and operational capacities in the markets. This leader will be responsible for developing and executing improvements in the S&OP processes to ensure that our sales, operations, and financial plans are aligned and integrated. The incumbent will possess a deep understanding of demand and supply planning, production scheduling, material requirements planning, and inventory management. This position requires acute skills to communicate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, finance, operations, and supply chain. 

Responsibilities
• Lead cross functional coordination with strategic marketing team to validate acceptable sales forecasts for optimal demand planning, to drive the S&OP process through financial integration focusing on demand plan valorization and overall business target setting.
• Chair the Global Sales & Operations Planning process, linking supply chain partners to support monthly, quarterly, annual reporting and business analysis for S&OP.
• Engage with the senior leadership to ensure S&OP related decisions to working capital tie are adequately taken within the process.
• Capture and review overall demand requirements, and supply capacities of the business to ensure supply is planned adequately.
• Govern the cyclical S&OP reviews with the appropriate Management Boards and facilitate the Global executive S&OP (Global Inventory Order Approval meeting).
• Work with Demand and Supply Managers to ensure continuity in the S&OP process. Build and grow a team of S&OP professionals within Engie Energy Access. Implement improvements in tools, systems and processes.
• Drives standardized methodologies for measuring the performance of the S&OP process by developing and governing policies, standards, guidelines, technology, and procedures.
• Deliver Process and Cost Improvements in the S&OP process including control of Overheads, Excess/Obsolescence among other optimization initiatives.
• Develop and implement inventory netting solutions to facilitate balancing of stock across multiple Engie Energy Access’ warehouses and locations.
• Develop and communicate regular ordering forecasts with support of procurement and supply planning to ensure suppliers have visibility on future orders to allow them secure important component inventories.
• Monitor and measure cyclical demand accuracy, provide regular variance reviews to countries and S&OP process stakeholders, to ensure correction.
• Monitor budget vs. actual spend on working capital spend on inventory on a monthly, quarterly, annual basis.
• Ensure consolidation of regional and country-based market intelligence to facilitate better S&OP decision making for the Demand and Supply Planning team.
• Set up, monitor, and ensure delivery to critical desired Customer Service Levels (OTIF at delivery per region to Optimize Inventory Levels (Days / months of Supply).
• Train necessary stakeholders to understand and buy-in to the S&OP process to ensure full engagement.

Knowledge and skills
Experience:
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in S&OP, demand planning, or supply chain management.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing S&OP processes that drive business results and cost optimization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions.
• Data savvy, able to review and decide based on comprehensive data sets that inform S&OP.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams experience to speed up decision making is important.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to develop and motivate a team.

Qualifications:
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in operations and supply chain management or other closely related fields such as industrial management/engineering.
• A master’s degree in business management or financial management or related supply chain management field is important.
• Possesses critical certifications in supply chain planning such as CSCP, CPIM, CLTD, CIPS or other relevant supply chain management association certifications.

Language(s): 
• English
• French is a plus (for West Africa).

Technology:
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NAV, Oracle is very important.
• Experience with other demand planning software and tools such as Streamline, JDA, Logility, Infor are an added advantage.
• Advanced user analytics tools such as Tableau, Mzee, PowerBi, Excel, are important for this role.
