Qualifications:
• Diploma in Public Administration and Management, Social Work and Social Administration, Development Studies or Business Administration.
• Should have the following competencies

• Communicating effectively
• Ethics and integrity
• Concern for quality and standards; Networking.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Preparing and compiling reports on parish operations for the attention of the Sub-County Chief; Collecting and accounting for local revenue in the Parish
• Preparing work plans and budgets for the operations of the Parish; Enforcing the implementation of National and Local Government policies, programs and Council bye-laws in the Parish
• Undertaking the mobilization of the Parish Community for Government development programs and projects
• Providing technical support to the Parish Council on any matters relating to lower Local Government governance
• Undertaking duties of Secretariat to the Parish Council
• Managing and monitoring Local Government projects implemented in the Parish
• Coordinating the maintenance of law and order in a parish.

Job application procedure
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the vacant posts of Parish Chief which exist in Tororo District Local Government under the implementation of the Parish Development Model for a contract period of one year and should be submitted to the Secretary, Tororo District Service Commission P.O. Box 1 Tororo to be received not later than Friday 27th August 2021.
Application forms Public Service Form No. 3 (Revised 2008) to be submitted in triplicate are obtainable from the Secretaries District Service Commissions or Public Service Commission, Kampala.
Applications must bear the title of the post and the reference number specified against the job.
Applicants should attach three sets of certified photocopies of their certificates and transcripts, plus three colour recent passport size photographs. Those already in Government service must route their applications through their heads of departments who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delay.
Applicants who shall not hear from the District Service Commission on completion of the selection exercise should consider themselves unsuccessful.
