JOB DETAILS:
Statewide Insurance Company Limited, commonly referred to as Statewide Insurance Company (SWICO), is an insurance company in Uganda. The company is a leading provider of insurance and risk management services.

Main purpose of the job
The Actuarial Officer will provide support for evaluating complex risks and assess the probability and potential financial consequences of risks and analyze data and statistics on risks and accidents and make predictions to ensure SWICO makes sound decisions

Key result areas and responsibilities
• Undertake risk assessment through provision of authentic and dependable data and analysis on risks and accidents
• Analyze statistical data on all insurable risks and accidents
• Computer modelling of statistics to determine potential risks
• preparing presentations and reports on risks and accidents
• Communicating findings to clients, managers and stakeholders
• Ensure premium rates are set accurately
• Review all company and client data before it is presented and check that is well in order
• Meet with the clients and understand what kind of statistics and data is required by them regarding their insurance products
• Meet with the heads of department on regular basis and have to provide them all the actuarial figures
• Review the performance of the actuaries and the accuracy of the analysis and predictions
• Keeping abreast of financial developments in the insurance business world
• Assess re-insurance and front the necessary arrangements

Minimum Academic and/or Professional Qualifications Necessary
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science.
