JOB DETAILS:
Youth Encouragement Services (YES) and Welthungerhilfe have been implementing a project named “Amaani Rwenzori !” in Fort Portal since September 2015. YES is a Ugandan NGO which has been in existence and operational since 2004. Welthungerhilfe is an International German NGO which has been cooperating with YES since 2011. Amaani Rwenzori! is a Youth Development Centre & Social Business which empowers the region’s vulnerable youth through work-based non-formal vocational training combined with life skills and entrepreneurship; after which training process, the participants are assessed and issued the nationally recognized certificate known as the Worker’s PAS by the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT). Amaani Rwenzori ! is part of the Skill-Up! program of Welthungerhilfe. Now, the two Partner Organizations seek to recruit suitably qualified individuals for the said project to occupy the offices listed here below:
Business Development Manager:
Responsibilities/Duties
• Coordinate the development of the social business model and brand of Amaani Rwenzori (inclusive of beauty services, pottery and fashion products)
• Lead the development of social business plans and streamline production processes
• Supervise and mentor the business unit managers in pottery, fashion, beauty services and coffee/craft shop
• Support in marketing, PR and product design (including use of internet and social media)
• Support project procurement processes
• Collect and maintain accurate data and business statistics, synthesize the collected data to guide business processes and decisions
• Act as an internal auditor for the social business units
Qualifications, work experience and related attributes:
• Possession of a University Degree in a business-related field with at least 3 years of work experience in business development or CSR
• The ideal candidate must be dynamic, articulate, innovative, reliable, a team player and passionate about youth and development issues.
• Should possess well developed interpersonal, communication, analytical, customer care and adequate management skills
• Be adept in computer (inclusive of MS Office packages), social media and internet use
