JOB DETAILS:
Overview of the Position:
The C&I Solar Systems Developer will scope, design and develop renewable energy projects for Nexus Green clients. This includes but is not limited to solar, street lighting, and electric(e)-mobility projects. The C&I Solar Systems Developer should have industry experience and knowledge of the solar and e-mobility sectors. He/she should have the ability to self-start and show initiative in a fast-paced work environment.

He/she should be able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and be able to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including project sponsors, contractors, equipment suppliers, customers, regulatory authorities, and other strategic partners.

Responsibilities extend across all phases of Company business development including, market research, customer relationship management, market-specific strategy, financial modelling, direct marketing, business development campaign plan creation with its execution, process development, and proposal development with its management.

The C&I Solar Systems Developer will have proficiency in modelling complex data sets and an understanding of the ever-changing renewable energy environment. The C&I Solar Systems Developer will be team-oriented, and demonstrate strong reasoning and communication skills (oral, written).

Responsibilities:
• Develop solar and e-mobility project proposals in the designated region(s) and countries, including but not limited to responding to Requests For Proposal (RFP), carrying out system designs, system documentation, client presentations, and system implementation i.e. construction, Operation and Maintenance (O&M)
• Execute business development campaigns in targeted market segments, Interfacing with multiple stakeholders to analyse available data and to structure and propose renewable energy solutions.
• Develop feasibility studies and provide detailed engineering designs for stand-alone, grid-tied, hybrid, solar, e-mobility, and other types of renewable energy systems for commercial and industrial entities.
• Assess/analyse renewable energy projects’ viability from user requirements, technical requirements, commercial requirements (financial and economic analysis), permitting, and other related legal aspects of solar power projects from inception to site handover and thereafter O&M
• Assess the energy demands, consumption patterns, and other customer requirements, before conducting technical studies, and designing of renewable energy systems according to those energy needs.
• Assess the value chain and its accompanying process across all renewable energy projects to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, and value for money.
• Building the operations team competency and capacity to execute projects according to the relevant prevailing regulations (electricity, health, and safety, labour, legal, financial)
• Ensuring all Nexus Green projects are delivered on time and are profitable.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of, and become expert in, target regions and markets, including regulatory incentives, and co-development opportunities; Identify and implement marketing initiatives and personal/professional outreach in the solar markets and storage markets, including developing origination materials, presenting to industry and customer constituencies, and identifying key marketing strategies and competitive differentiators.
• Creation of product extensions and expansions within the Nexus Green product portfolio taking into account component compatibility.
• Initiate and implement origination plans, including establishing Channel Partners, in one or more designated region(s) and market(s), identify, filter, engage, and cultivate
• customer contacts in support of origination strategy and sales campaigns.
• Track, update, coordinate, and originate opportunities directly and with the team.
• Collaborate with other Company team members to provide a coordinated customer approach and outreach effort.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Requirements
• Master’s degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Renewable Energy. Registration to an Engineering professional body is an added advantage but not mandatory.
• Membership in an engineering professional body is mandatory.
• 5+ years of experience in renewable energy business development or comparable business development
• Driver’s License

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
• Experience managing multiple contractors and suppliers.
• Prior renewable energy industry experience, particularly solar preferred
• Knowledge and experience of the e-mobility value chain and battery charging stations
• Experience designing, installing, and commissioning solar system design for between 10-400 kilo-Watt peak (kWp)
• Knowledge of how to carry out detailed energy audits using digital data loggers.
• Strategic relationship builder with both internal/external project stakeholders demonstrating personal integrity with a win/win mindset.
• Experience in opportunity identification; demonstrated success in prospecting, identifying, and qualifying new business opportunities.
• Successful at building and implementing customer acquisition plans.
• Experience in building relationships; ability to develop customer relationships through existing contacts and relationships; build relationships quickly.
• Experience designing solar systems and other electrical infrastructure.
• Experience creating electrical component specifications and sourcing components both in the local and international markets.
• Experience building financial modelling for renewable energy systems (cash, lease to own, and PPA (Power Purchas Agreements) models)
• Experience in managing multiple engineering teams’ development tasks and methods.
• Proven project management and implementation for renewable energy projects
• Proven track record of effective communications with project stakeholders, including energy customers, landowners, government officials, utility representatives, community members, contractors, and suppliers.
• Basic legal knowledge, including, PPDAs, and land option agreements.
• Technical understanding of renewable technologies
• Proven experience creating effective and efficient processes in companies.
• Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple and changing fast changing priorities.
• Analytical skills required to understand the economic, technological, and permitting issues of a project including the ability to evaluate site plans, land surveys, and environmental and title reports.
• High energy, and ability to work well in a team environment with proven attention to detail.
• Ability to travel upon request.
• Willingness to work and thrive in a culture of respect, communication, and accountability in a highly dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements:
• Traveling to customer locations and sites including walking project sites with varying terrain and weather conditions.

Working Conditions:
• Time will be split between an office environment and traveling to locations to meet with landowners, customers, and other external stakeholders. Proficiency with multiple software tools including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, Adobe. Experience with Auto CAD Electrical or any other Electrical CAD software
