Job Summary:
The Media Challenge Initiative (MCI) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Car Driver to operate the IMC Van, which is an Outreach Media training van. The IMC Van plays a crucial role in facilitating the seamless implementation of the Inter-University Media Challenge, transporting training and production equipment to both rural and urban universities across Uganda. The Car Driver will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of trainers and training resources, Production team to participating institutions, enabling effective training sessions.
The driver is expected to exhibit high standards of discretion and integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent defensive driving skills. The Driver shall demonstrate a client-oriented approach, and ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds. The Driver shall fully adhere to and keep abreast with standing MCI guidelines and policies concerning drivers’ roles and responsibilities in the implementation of Projects and workflows at MCI.

Key Responsibilities:
• Safely and responsibly operate the IMC Van, adhering to traffic rules and regulations at all times.
• Transport trainers, training equipment, and materials to designated universities and training venues.
• Assist with loading and unloading training equipment, ensuring proper handling and secure transportation.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance to ensure the IMC Van is in optimal working condition.
• Keep accurate records of vehicle maintenance, mileage, and fuel consumption.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the IMC Van, both internally and externally.
• Cooperate with trainers and Production team to ensure smooth running of business.

Qualifications Of The Successful Candidate
• Education: Secondary Education. Valid Driver’s license - DL;
• Experience: 5 years’ work experience as a driver; safe driving record; knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair. Work experience with the a reputable NGO is desirable.
• Language Requirements: Able to Communicate in English. Candidates who are able to communicate in several languages are preferred.

Combined Scoring Method
The candidates will be evaluated based on a Combined Scoring Method, where the qualifications and methodology will be weighted a max. of 70% and combined with the price offer which will be weighted a max of 30%. Note: Only candidates obtaining minimum 49 points or 70% of the technical criteria will be considered for financial evaluation.
