JOB DESCRIPTION
The responsibilities of the position are to be performed in accordance with the provisions of Acacia
‘Employment Contract’ & the ‘Terms of Service’.

Job Purpose
• To carry out the duties of English Teacher under the direction of the School Director and the
• Senior School Principal.
• To promote the aims and objectives of the school and maintain its philosophy of education and
• Christian witness.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Typically, as an English Teacher you will be required to:
• Have experience of teaching across all ages including middle school and high school and exam
• classes. Knowledge and experience of IGCSE and Advanced Placement English Language and
• English Literature would be preferable but not essential.
• Have a love of the subject.
• Aspire to be a talented, dynamic, and ambitious teacher, who will ensure good progress for all
• students.
• Be dedicated to raising standards and working in partnership with others.
• Can inspire, engage, and enthuse students in English Language and Literature.
• Be skilled at fostering independent and collaborative student-led learning.
• Have high regard for the classroom learning environment and resources.
• Use technology to deliver the curriculum.
• Be able to develop, plan and deliver effective and high-quality learning experiences to all
• students.
• Be an aspirational professional who is enthusiastic, influential, and committed to working in
• pursuit of excellence for Acacia International School and its learners.
• Be part of a team which enforces high standards of behaviour and pushes students to achieve
