Job Description Hotel Housekeeping Staff
We are seeking diligent and detail-oriented individuals to join our housekeeping team at a hotel in Entebbe, Uganda. As a Housekeeping Staff member, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment for all guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Room Maintenance: Clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, vacuuming carpets, cleaning floors, dusting furniture, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Restocking Supplies: Replenish room amenities such as towels, toiletries, and other supplies as needed.
- Public Area Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness in public areas of the hotel, including lobbies, hallways, and restrooms.
- Laundry Duties: Handle laundry services, including washing, drying, and ironing linens and guests' clothing.
- Reporting Issues: Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department promptly.
- Guest Interaction: Provide courteous and professional service to guests, addressing any inquiries or requests promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelors degree is an added advantage
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Basic understanding of sanitation and safety protocols.
- Good communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced environment requiring physical exertion.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Interaction with guests and other hotel staff.
