JOB DETAILS:
What is your role?
The Maintenance Lead ensures the maximum utilization of the feed mill by minimizing plant downtimes and guarantees the quality of the feed produced. This includes development of maintenance strategies and processes, and the execution of planned and unplanned maintenance work at the feed mill, equipment and the facility in general.

This role reports to the Plant Manager.
Your key responsibilities are to:
• Develop maintenance plans, work instructions and spare part strategy for all equipment on site (mechanical and electrical), based on recommendations from OEMs.
• Define maintenance processes for breakdowns, planned, and corrective maintenance.
• Develop quality control procedures for maintenance work as required.
• Ensure all statutory requirements for equipment and facilities are adhered to.
• Ensure absolute compliance to all Health and Safety Protocols when working in and around the plant.
• Respond to emergency calls for maintenance (on- and off duty)
• Use data analysis to help prepare for and prevent future problems
• Management of contractors and/or suppliers on site.
• Lead trouble shooting and coach employees on site in problem solving.
• Manage the spare part store and ensure stock counts of spare parts are done as required.
• On a daily basis conduct routine checks in the plant to identify potential problem areas, bottle necks and possible areas where contamination can occur. As soon as problem areas is identified, if necessary bring it to the attention of the relevant Management, then take corrective action immediately.
• Control and manage the approved M&R budget and providing cost serving initiatives
• Maintain good housekeeping practices in the workshop at all times and ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly stored.
• Assess current maintenance work processes, to optimize efficiency
• Manage maintenance team members proactively
• Perform administrative tasks such as writing of reports
• Create and encourage an engaging environment that drives a continuous improvement and high-performance culture that promotes creativity.
• Any other duties assigned by your supervisor.

What do we expect from you?
• A degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5 years of experience in a similar role in Maintenance Supervision
• Strong knowledge of mechanical machines
• Knowledge in PLC and SCADA systems
• Strong experience in feed milling machines is preferred
• ERP knowledge is an added advantage
