JOB DETAILS:
Medical Officer Special Grade (Clinical Care Coordinator)
Salary Scale : U2
Reports to : Consultant (Internal Medicine)

Qualifications:
• MBChB Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.
• Master of Medicine Degree in Internal Medicine or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.

Other Requirements:

Applicants should have demonstrable qualities of leadership and integrity.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Assist in ensuring efficient management of services in his/her specialization at the Hospital and the catchment area covered by the Hospital.
• Develop and manage ART Clinic workplan and budget
• Participate in day-to-day running of the HIV/AIDS Clinic at Gulu RRH including daily enrolment of all newly identified HIV positive Clients
• Work with ART Clinic and TB Unit staff and all facility entry points to strengthen TB screening, testing, initiation and completion of treatment and achievement of G2G priority areas/indicators
• Conduct routine training needs Assessment for the ART Clinic and TB teams and develop a staff capacity building plan/training schedule
• Organize routine performance reviews at the ART Clinic and TB Unit and ensures activities are well coordinated
• Monitor and support attainment of HIV prevention (VMMC, KP/PP.HTS, PMTCT) and HIV/TB care and Treatment
• S/he will organize and participate in outreach and community health programs,
• Ensure high quality health data collection, data compilation and submission of periodic reports
• Support Gulu RRH ART Clinic Pharmacy and Laboratory staff in forecasting, quantifying and requisitioning adequate medicines and supplies for HIV/AIDS and TB
• Supervise and appraise the subordinate staff
• Prepares and submit periodic reports on HIV/AIDS and TB services to his/her supervisor and the Hospital Director
• Supervise and mentor Medical Officers, Interns and other Health Professionals under him/her.
• Plan and coordinate Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in his/her specialty, for Health professionals at the Hospital.
• Provide technical and professional advice in his/her area of specialization to Government and the Institution.
• Carry out research in his/her area of specialty.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

The Application should be filled and submitted to office of the Director Gulu Regional Referral Hospital, not later than 20th December, 2022.
Note that Health Workers recruited under this project will be appointed on Contracts Terms. These are full time jobs, employees in government service are not allowed to apply. Salaries will be based on Government of Uganda Scale.

• Attach colored passport size photograph on the PSF 3
• Photocopy only the relevant documents and attach on the PSF 3 2.

• Academic and professional certificates (UCE, UACE, Professional Certificates, Diplomas, Degrees, Fellowships).
• Evidence of training in specialized areas where applicable.
• Letters of appointment where applicable.
• Registration certificates and valid practicing licenses for health workers who are required by law to register with relevant Professional Councils.
• National Identity Card.
• An updated CV with contact information for 3 referees.
• Shortlisted applicants will have the opportunity to present additional relevant qualifications.

It is emphasized that:
• Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
• Shortlisted candidates shall be required to bring their original certificates, letters of appointment where applicable, three copies of completed PSF 3, Registration Certificates and Valid Practicing Licenses, at the oral interview.
• Candidates who will present forged certificates shall be handed over to the Police for appropriate action.
• Health Workers who are on training must not apply.
