Saferworld is an independent international organisation working to prevent violent conflict and build safer lives. We work with local people affected by conflict to improve their safety and sense of security, whilst conducting wider research and analysis into the drivers of conflict. We use this evidence and learning to improve local, national and international policies and practices that can help build lasting peace.

We believe that efforts to prevent violent conflict should always be based on the local context and local l needs. We use the evidence and experience from our in country programmes and the expertise our staff, partners and networks -I to make recommendations. Saferworld has been working in Africa since 199'/, with (I primary focus upon East Africa and the Horn region. We have well--established programmes in Kenya, Uganda. Somalia and South Sudan. in addition. Saferworlrl supports regional and international conflict prevention and security processes. Saferworld headquarters are in London, with offices in Nairobi, Kampala and Juba.
Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Coordinator
In order to improve our understanding of the impact our projects have, and how we can make them more effective, we are looking for an experienced Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Coordinator to support Saferworld‘s programmes in East Africa. The Coordinator will be responsible for refining and maintaining the M&E systems of the designated country programmes, ensuring they are implemented effectively by key stakeholders. This needs to be supported by actively engaging in data collection and building M&E capacity of Saferworld and partner staff, including on more participatory approaches to M&E
