Job details: The National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) is established by the National Agricultural Research Act 2005 as a body corporate responsible for the coordination and oversight of all aspects of agricultural research in Uganda. The Director General invites suitably qualified Ugandans to apply for the following positions at NARO Secretariat, Entebbe. Job Title: PRINCIPAL PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER 1 post
Reports to: Director, Corporate Services
Salary Grade: UR 3

Job Purpose
Foster the good corporate image of NARO, disseminate accurate information and educate the public on the operations and functions of NARO and enhance the public awareness and understanding of NARO activities.

Minimum qualifications and working experience:

• A Honors Degree in Mass communication or Public Relations options or Journalism or any other closely related qualifications plus Master’s Degree in any of the above from a recognized university. 
• At least 9 (nine) years working experience in Public Relations three (3) years of which should have been served at the level of head of a Public Relations department in government or equivalent level of relevant working experience from a reputable organization. 

Key competencies:
Designing and implementing public relations strategy, integrity and confidentiality, oral and written communications, Setting up a high performing team, interpersonal relations, ability to work and produce accurate results in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks and ability to meet timelines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Age Limit: Applicants must not be above 50 years.
