Straight Talk Foundation (STF) is a Ugandan health communications National Non Governmental Organisation that was founded in 1993 and operates nationally in Uganda. Its activities and interventions aim at improving the sexual reproductive health and wellbeing of young people for adoption of healthy behaviors in Uganda through advocacy, evidence driven communication and youth friendly service delivery.
For the past 25 years it has been the leading provider of various social and behavior change communication programs to various stakeholders in Uganda. Its programs and interventions target young people as its primary audience, while significant adults in the lives of young people such as parents and teachers are targeted as a secondary audience.
Straight Talk Foundation is therefore looking to recruit for the following Position
Program Officer, SRHR Alliance (1 Position) – Kampala
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the National Programme Coordinator (NPC), the Program Officer, SRHR Alliance will be responsible for providing technical and administrative support to the SRHR Alliance Secretariat.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Alliance Secretariat in planning and executing joint advocacy work among its partners.
• Support the National Program Coordinator in the development and monitoring of work plans and budgets.
• Compile progress reports for joint activities implemented by the SRHR Alliance partners.
• In consultation with the NPC mobilize targeted SRHR Alliance partners to participate in joint Alliance workshops/ meetings.
• Liaise with SRHR Alliance partners on various operational, technical and program areas as well as project-related issues.
Academic Background, Experience and Person Specifications:
• A minimum of a Bachelors’ Degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences or any other related discipline from a recognized University.
• At least 2 years’ experience, working with an NGO involved in SRHR field.
• Previous experience working with young people will be an added advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and analytical skills
• Good report writing skills
• Advocacy and M&E skills and experience.
• Team work-oriented and possession of multi-tasking skills.
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
• Excellent time management and planning skills.
