Overview
The job entails developing and maintaining awamo’s web applications; ensuring that they meet globally accepted standards to achieve the best user experience..

Responsibilities & duties
• Develop and maintain awamo’s Cockpit, a large single page web application (management
information system / BI solution)
• Align with the product management team about features, design/UI/UX and priorities
• Align processes and data exchange with our transactional backend (open source, Java)
• Optimize design and code after the initial deployment
• Participate in the full project life cycle from design to go-live and support
• Improve automated testing procedures
• Write documentation
• Work with outside data sources and APIs
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development
Efficiency

Academic/Skills
• Bachelors’ degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or any other related field – equivalent work experience will be considered as well
• Fluency in English

Work experience
• Min. 3 years working experience in developing web apps or web based solutions
• Experience in developing financial software solutions
• Website development and UI/UX design, programming against APIs and web services
• Architecture of web apps (HTTPS, SSL/TLS, SQL injection protection, session hijacking, XSS, CSRF)
• Experience with several of the following tools/technologies:
o HTML5, LESS and CSS
o JavaScript, JQUERY / JSON, AngularJS, Ajax
o REST services and APIs / Databases (xSQL)
o At least one object oriented language (e.g. Java, Python)
o GitHub/BitBucket/Jira/AWS
• Knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle
• Experience in an agile work environment, i.e. source code and build management, testing, continuous integration
• System Performance Optimization
• Application security, i.e. storage and transport layer encryption, SSL
