Job details:
Caritas Arua, in cooperation with Cordaid, is preparing a humanitarian response in the settlements in West Nile, focusing on supporting the refugees and host communities in a selected area. The programme will target the sectors of Food Security and WASH, while mainstreaming Protection. For that purpose, additional technical capacity is required. Caritas is therefore currently seeking to recruit a number of highly qualified professionals for the below three positions. All three report directly to the Humanitarian Programme Manager.

•  Flexibility to perform different tasks and outside office hours
• Able to work under pressure, not a 9-5 mentality

WASH Engineer, based in Arua with frequent field visits.

Responsibilities: implementation of the WASH component of the programme, covering borehole testing and rehabilitation, installing motorized water system, constructing permanent latrines for schools and HCs, managing hygiene promotion activities, supporting erection of household latrines.

Qualifications and experience: registered civil engineer, minimum of 5 years of experience with design, construction and procurement of emergency (hygiene) kits, boreholes, water supply systems, latrines, septic tanks, ‘disposal, hygiene promotion programmes and other WASH interventions. Experience with emergency camp settings is an asset.
