Context/Scope:
UBL has been a leading brewer in Uganda since it began operations in 1946. Located in Port Bell – Luzira in the outskirts of Kampala, the brewery is continuously modernized, and its operating capacity expanded. Bell Lager is the company’s flagship brand having been in the market for over 60 years. Key Brands include: Bell Lager, Tusker Malt, Pilsner, Senator, Guinness.
Accountabilities:
• Manage Inventory and Stores processes in adherence with controls and materials management standards for efficient and effective operations.
• Maintain optimum stocks with minimum stockholding costs, without compromising on production and maintenance processes.
• Manage receipts, issues, storage, and reconciliation of materials using computer software SAP.
• Ensure quantities and quality delivered by suppliers fulfil the contractual commitment on purchase orders at the point of receipt.
• Coordinate with Agriculture, Planning, Procurement and Production teams to develop a material call off schedule as per production plan and ensure adherence to the plan.
• Manage real time posting of material movements in SAP system
• Manage the non-conforming materials as per UBL quality/Governance guidelines.
• Supervise loading, offloading and material intra transfers
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of movements and transactions by regularly running and reviewing movement reports.
• Maintain Stores in accordance with UBL Stores procedures, Physical Security Policy, Quality Policy and Controls risk management standards.
• Maintain hygiene standards in Stores: conduct daily hygiene audits, 5S review and implementation.
• Manage materials as per manufacturer recommendation, temperature and humidity monitoring.
• FIFO and Batch management plus appropriate tracking of safety stocks
• Prepare, participate, follow up on regular stock counts in accordance with the UBL stock counting procedures.
• Reconcile physical to book stock, variance investigation and explanation
• Manage weighbridge operations for all incoming materials and outgoing product.
• Supervise Stores Assistants and Process minders.
• Apply the UBL Health & Safety standards during all stores processes and conducting safety toolbox talks.
• Support with planning, development and implementation of all Stores projects.
Qualifications
Degree in any business related or supply chain related field
2-3yrs experience in logistics in an FMCG company
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology.
• Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
• Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.
