JOB DETAILS:
Key Responsibilities
• Developing waste management standards, policies and procedures
• Overseeing the entire waste management cycle from client to camp to recycling and transportation
• Ensuring compliance to different SOPs and other regulations from industry stakeholders at different levels i.e. PAU, NSD, NSSF, URA, Total, ISO etc.
• Monitor the quality and performance of other service providers
• Oversee design and implementation of waste management systems
• Managing and coordinating other staff members in the camp
• Supporting procurement processes for equipment and other relevant technologies in the field
• Training other staff members in waste management standards
• Liaising with other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations in the camp
• Managing and implementing health and safety protocols and standards within the camp
• Maintaining Camp hygiene standards
• Ensure project milestones/goals are achieved within budgets, timelines to the satisfaction of all stake holders
• Developing research projects and contribute to the activities of national groups concerned with waste disposal
• Creating camp budgets in line with waste management and overseeing budget implementation

Relevant Education
• A master’s degree in Environmental science or Waste Management or related field is required
• A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biochemical science, chemical and physical sciences, earth sciences or a related degree
• PMP Certification is required
• A post graduate diploma in Project Planning and Management is desirable

Essential Experience and Knowledge
• Minimum of six (6) years experience in the field of waste management in a top leadership role
• Exposure to oil-related waste management is crucial
• International experience is desirable
• Experience in transport, store, recycling, dispose of, and documenting various kinds of hazardous waste is required
• Knowledge in managing complex waste management facilities
• Exposure to modern technology in waste management especially in the oil industry is essential
• Knowledge in creating waste management systems in a fast paced industry
• Project management experience
• ISO certification knowledge
