Job Summary:
Our client, a big construction company with Branches in Uganda, Congo, Zambia, Tanzania, and Kenya is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Foreman to lead and manage our mechanical projects. The ideal candidate should have an Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant work experience, having worked at this level on at least two (2) similar projects to completion. As a Mechanical Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical equipment, to ensure the successful completion of projects within schedule, budget, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, schedule, and supervise mechanical installation, repair, and maintenance activities on the project site.
• Ensure that all mechanical works are carried out in compliance with the project plans, specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
• Conduct inspections and tests of mechanical systems to identify issues and ensure that they are functioning correctly.
• Coordinate with the project team, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment needed for mechanical works.
• Train and mentor junior technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Keep accurate records of all mechanical works performed on the project site.
• Prepare progress reports and update the project manager on the status of mechanical works.
• Attend project meetings and provide input on mechanical works-related matters.

Requirements:
• An Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience as a Mechanical Foreman on similar projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Ability to manage and supervise a team of technicians.
• Experience in using mechanical tools and equipment.
• Good record-keeping and report writing skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to project sites as needed.
