JOB DETAILS:
Duty Station: Head Office.
Reports To: Bancassurance Manager.
Job Summary:
The Bancassurance Officer will support the Bancassurance Manager in the execution of all aspects of the Bancassurance business including but not limited to, business development, operations, revenue assurance, and management of stakeholders’ relationships.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop, initiate, and implement strategies for customer acquisition, retention, and growth.
• Understanding core customer insights through customer visits with relationship managers who service a portfolio of these clients.
• Develop product awareness and training for the products by ensuring that branches and the sales teams are adequately trained in the offerings to drive the take-up ratio.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance partners, fostering collaboration and ensuring the availability of a diverse and competitive product range.
• Ensure high-quality customer service in the delivery of insurance products, addressing customer inquiries and explaining different insurance products, coverage options, and policy terms.
• Ensure full compliance with the regulatory requirements for the bancassurance operation.
• Monitor lapses, average premiums, and penetrations to see if any trends emerge and address any underlying issues that need attention.
• Ensure correct implementation of product pricing in line with regulatory requirements.
• Support customers in all claim procedures and processes.
Academic And Professional Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field; preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics from a recognized university.
• Certificate of Insurance (CIU) is required.
• A Diploma in Insurance or equivalent insurance qualification would be an added advantage.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in insurance products sales and servicing.
• A practical understanding of bancassurance product management principles, including financials, pricing, strategy, marketing, sales & compliance.
Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise:
• Knowledge of both Life Insurance and Non-Life insurance products.
• Working knowledge of bancassurance regulations including IRA reporting requirements.
• Understanding of Insurance and Banking operating systems, products, services, and policies.
• Knowledge of sales principles and practices to manage portfolio retention and growth.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint packages.
• A proficiency in generating creative ideas and out-of-the-box solutions to problems.
• Articulate, persuasive, and able to deal with senior executives or clients maturely and confidently.
• Organized, efficient, and self-motivated with high attention to detail.
