JOB DETAILS:

Responsibilities /Key Deliverables

1. Coordinate design, development and implementation of an appropriate M&ER framework required to ensure accurate reporting against set performance metrics to meet internal and external reporting requirements on biodiversity performance for the net gain programme, all operational compliance activities, and any other reporting needs.
2. Coordinate management of biodiversity data to ensure appropriate archival, access and retrieval with ability to easily interrogate or manipulate the data for reporting purposes amongst others. This will include collating data on a regular basis received from the biodiversity units to measure achievement against the performance indicators, performing QC/QA, maintaining and administering the M&ER database, analysing and collating findings, reporting, amongst others.
3. Review the existing approaches to biodiversity data management and available Management Information Systems to propose required changes, support and resources to ensure design and development of an appropriate system.
4. Participating in and providing support to project design activities including development of project theories of change and strategic frameworks. This will include support in developing project monitoring and evaluation plans.
5. Prepare and deliver reports on M&E findings including preparing and conducting presentations as required.
6. Support Tilenga Biodiversity programme progress reporting, reviews and evaluations as and when necessary.
7. Develop a plan for the biodiversity team capacity-building on M&E and for any computer-based support that may be required for use.
8. Provide technical assistance to the biodiversity team including but not limited to Geographical Information System (GIS) support, or any other data analysis applications that may be required.
9. Support the team in identifying lessons learnt, return on experiences, and support the units in improving programme performance using M&E findings.
10. Contribute to ensuring coordination and alignment between activities of Biodiversity and Social Performance teams to allow effective and efficient community and tourism development.

JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Contribute in planning, designing and implementing monitoring surveys to ensure appropriate data is collected, accurate trends identification and reporting against baseline status and programme targets of achieving biodiversity net gain.
2. In liaison with the Biodiversity Manager Rangelands and Biodiversity Manager (Forests and Wetlands), ensure all aspects of the net gain programme are fully incorporated into the M&ER framework.
3. Contribute to building an open and trusting relationship with regulators, mandated institutions and Civil Society Organizations through regular and open engagements.
4. Contribute to producing internal and external publications.


Skills & Experience
Qualification: Bachelor of Science in; Conservation Science subjects, Information Systems/Technology, Statistics, or related relevant fields. A post graduate diploma/masters in Project Monitoring and Evaluation is strongly preferred.

Experience:
1. At least 3 year's professional experience in Programme Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting (M&ER).
2. Thorough knowledge and understanding of M&ER tools, techniques and practices.
3. An understanding of impact assessment is an added advantage.
4. Excellent organizational, analytical, report writing and computer applications skills with proven experience in Management Information Systems (MIS).
5. Strong GIS analytical skills.
6. Proven experience in data management.
7. Proven ability to work independently, work under time pressure and meet deadlines.
