Purpose of the position: Ensures that all matters concerning operations at Juba Branch Station are handled on time through accompanying cargo for delivery, supervising verification, and off loading at the various locations to meet clients’ timelines.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide overall leadership for the South Sudan branch.
• Develop and implement strategies to grow the business and expand into new markets.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, partners, and customers.
• Recruit, vet, and train all new staff and monitor their performance.
• Together with the MD oversee the budget and financial performance of the country operation.
• Prepare weekly financial and operational reports for the branch.
• Maintaining a good image of the organization at all times.
• Release cargo after securing the customs release in the National Revenue Authority system while complying with Fracht’s set cargo release procedures.
• Liaison and complying with customs, other authorities i.e., South Sudan National Revenue Authority, SSNBS & Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Investment to achieve better operations to satisfy client needs.
• Ensure that goods are accompanied for delivery and ensure that the cargo count/ verification tallies with the goods finally delivered and offloaded at client’s premises or warehouse.
• Ensure that containers are inspected before and after delivery and writes the condition on the delivery notes.
• Allocates and guides junior staff on Standard Operating Procedures which are taking photos of all operations handled, inspection of all containers, getting all proof of Deliveries signed, stamped with all comments undersigned by client, and forwards the same to the supervisor verifications and deliveries.
• Compiling reports about the transactions, monitoring and controlling costs at the branch office.
• Mentoring and on job training of junior staff.
• Track and maintain a folder with all records of delivery, loading transshipments, verification accounts and stock records.
• Reviewing and developing of procedures and processes for Fracht field operations.
• Perform any other duties that may from time to time be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management
• A Diploma in customs Clearing and Forwarding
• Certificate in East African Customs Freight Forwarding Practicing Certificate
Experience
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in Juba South Sudan in a similar position in the freight forwarding industry with a high-profile freight forwarding company.
• Knowledge in customs clearing and forwarding.
• Demonstrate aptitude of teamwork
• High level of interpersonal skills
• Must have effective communication skills, both written and oral.
• Must be ready to work long and irregular hours.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
