JOB DETAILS:
Our client, a Ugandan registered, Christian-based microfinance institution, which is also part of a global network, has a focus on supporting and strengthening human development through provision of high quality financial services to small income-generating enterprises for sustainable development of communities
Our client is looking for suitably qualified individuals to apply for the position of Chief Executive Officer. The position reports to the Board and is based in Kampala. The CEO is charged with the responsibility of supervising the different business units through the Heads/Managers.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications: Knowledge and Technical Skills:
The ideal candidate must have:
• A Masters degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management or some other related field
• At least five-year working experience in senior management in a combination of the following: micro- enterprise lending organization, banking institution, a progressive corporate environment, international business, or economic and business development institution
• A clear understanding of micro finance industry and technology

Other competencies/ Attributes
• Determined personality with initiative, perseverance and the ability to motivate and manage a team
• Capability and willingness to lead the organization forward
• Ready to comply and live up to and in accordance with the organization Ideals and core values
• Be a good trainer, facilitator, mentor, and coach.
• Must exhibit strong leadership and management capabilities.
• Excellent Computer skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and marketing skills
• Very good knowledge of the economy and financial matters
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The major functions of the CEO shall include the following;
• To lead management on the implementation of the company's strategy.
• With the Board Chair, enable the Board to fulfil its governance function.
• Driving Company growth
• Effective portfolio/ asset management
• To effectively represent the company and strive to build a positive image in all relevant media
• To lead management on fundraising initiatives.
• To provide effective oversight on the financial management function
• To provide effective oversight on the risk management function
• To lead on formulation and implementation of internal policies and procedures
• To lead on institutional strengthening and capacity building
• To ensure compliance to rules and regulations

Critical outputs
• Development and implementation of the strategic plan of the Company.
• Development and implementation of policies and procedures
• Profitability of the company
• Timely submission of financial and operational reports to the Board.
