Job details:
Main purpose of the position: Secretary to the National Library Board , Chief Executive and Accounting Officer of the National Library and Chief inspector of public libraries in Uganda. Reports to: The National Library Board

Key Functions and activities:

• Execution of plans and policies of the Board
  
• Ensuring the proper and effective planning, budgeting, execution and evaluation of the services of the library under the National Library Act, 2003

Qualifications and attributes;

• An honors first degree
  
• Postgraduate qualifications at a masters degree level in librarianship or information science
  
• Qualifications and/or experience in project proposal writing and human resource management will be an added advantage
  
• At least ten H0] years’ continuous service in a large and well organized library, five of which must have been at senior managerial level.
  
• Knowledge and competence in computer applications to information management
  
• Skills in inter personal communication, teamwork building, lobbying and advocacy.
  
• A person of high moral character and proven integrity

Terms and Conditions of service: 5 year contract, renewable on satisfactory execution of duties. Attractive remuneration including annual leave, housing allowance and gratuity.
