Other knowledge/skills
• Computer literacy with excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as online meeting and conference tools and optional experience in using energy software design tools.

ResponsibilitiesThe Junior Energy Advisor - DSS is responsible for
Key Responsibilities• Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of the project’s activities to increase access to energy for refugees and host communities.
• Working closely with representatives from the respective ministries, private sector partners and other stakeholders. Tangible outcomes and quantifiable results are expected.
The Junior Energy Advisor - DSS performs the following tasks
Specific Tasks• Demand-side subsidy fund manager coordination
• Support the Energy Advisor DSS in the development key implementation documents for the DSS pilot together with key stakeholders.
• Awareness-raising & capacity building on RE
• Support the project partners to generate awareness on the benefits and uses of renewable energy products among refugees and host communities.
• Work with local partners to increase their awareness and capacity in relation to RE
• Ensure linkages between the DSS pilot activities and other relevant projects to increase the reach of developed messages and materials
Knowledge management, M&E and other tasks
• Regularly plan together with the Energy Advisor DSS & update the project manager as well as EnDev team members on the progress of ongoing and planned activities and key sector trends.
• Contribute to the global DSS knowledge & learning agenda as well as potential exchanges with other implementing countries.
• Support the preparation of reports and project proposals as needed.
• Support the preparation of factsheets, presentations, articles and other communication and visibility materials as needed.
• Supervise and guide consultants.
• Comply with procedures within GIZ, such as tenders and contracts with third parties.
Other Duties/Additional Tasks
• Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.
Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in an energy or sustainability related field, economics or business management and administration.
Details of experience
• At least one years of professional experience in the implementation of energy related projects, experience work energy access in the refugee settings is an added advantage.
• Experience in private sector partnerships, awareness raising, capacity development and similar topics.

The Energy Advisor - DSS performs the following tasks:
Specific Tasks
• Demand-side subsidy fund manager coordination
• Develop key implementation documents for the DSS pilot together with key stakeholders.
• Coordinate the contractual relationship with grant recipients and provide technical backstopping for joint activities implemented by partners.
• Maintain relationships with key private sector partners and coordinate information sharing between GIZ EnDev and key partners.
• Awareness-raising & capacity building on RE
• Support the project partners to generate awareness on the benefits and uses of renewable energy products among refugees and host communities.
• Ensure linkages between the DSS pilot activities and other relevant projects to increase the reach of developed messages and materials.
• Knowledge management, M&E and other tasks
• Ensure key lessons, updates on progress and potential challenges are communicated regularly to the key stakeholders including WB/ESMAP and UECCC
• Regularly plan together with the Junior Energy Advisor DSS & update the project manager as well as EnDev team members on the progress of ongoing and planned activities and key sector trends.
• Contribute to the global DSS knowledge & learning agenda as well as potential exchanges with other implementing countries.
• Support the preparation of reports and project proposals as needed.
• Support/lead the preparation of factsheets, presentations, articles and other communication and visibility materials as needed.
• Support the M&E specialist in monitoring and evaluation including the data collection, and analysis and documentation of lessons learned from the DSS activities.
• Supervise and guide consultants.
• Comply with procedures within GIZ, such as tenders and contracts with third parties.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in an energy or sustainability related field, international relations, or business management and administration. A master’s degree in a related field is an added advantage

• At least three years of professional experience in the implementation of energy related projects including at least 2 years of active engagement with energy access in the refugee context
• Experience in private sector partnerships, market development, fund management and similar topics
