Job Summary:
Our client, a big construction company with Branches in Uganda, Congo, Zambia, Tanzania, and Kenya is seeking an experienced General Foreman to oversee and manage construction projects. The General Foreman will be responsible for supervising construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing the workforce. The ideal candidate will have an Ordinary Diploma in Civil/Building Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage construction activities, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and project plans
• Supervise and manage the workforce, including subcontractors, laborers, and other workers
• Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure timely completion
• Ensure that all materials and equipment are available and in good condition
• Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure project success
• Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications
• Maintain accurate records of project progress and expenses
• Provide regular progress reports to senior management
• Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the company's policies and procedures
• Provide leadership and guidance to the workforce to promote a positive and productive work environment

Requirements:
• Ordinary Diploma in Civil/Building Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, with at least 2 similar projects completed to a satisfactory standard
• Knowledge of construction safety regulations and procedures
• Excellent leadership and management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
