Living Water International (LWI) exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water, and to experience “living water” – the gospel of Jesus Christ – which alone satisfies the deepest thirst. Living Water provides safe drinking water, Community Mobilisation & Gospel Proclamation, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion to communities in Latin America, Asia and Across Africa. Currently we are in over 19+ Countries worldwide.
LWI UGANDA PROGRAM
LWI Uganda runs an integrated WASH program in South Western Uganda working in the districts of Kiruhura, Ibanda and Mayuge. LWI Uganda been operating in Uganda since 2009 providing safe clean water, Christian Witness, Sanitation and Hygiene services and Capacity building of communities in operation & maintenance of wells. Our water team has also installed alternative water points in several districts of Uganda besides drilling Northern Uganda by 2021.
SANITATION, HYGIENE ASSISTANCE FOR REFUGEES (SHARE) PROGRAM
The SHARE program will deliver high-quality holistic Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services in Nakivale, Oruchinga, Rwamwanja and Kyaka II settlements in South Western Uganda. SHARE will improve health outcomes of the refugees and host communities through: community) in sustainable management of water and sanitation services in Nakivale, Oruchinga through: a) increased adaption of appropriate hygienic practices; b) increased access to and use of improved sanitation and water products/services c) strengthened capacity of the local structures (church and Rwamwanja and Kyaka II settlements), South Western Uganda. These interventions will be implemented at the household level and at local institutions including schools, health facilities, churches, mosques and marketplaces.
LWI Uganda therefore seeks to recruit competent, motivated and qualified Ugandan Specialists for this anticipated SHARE program in Uganda in the following positions:
Grant Accounts Manager:
S/he will be responsible for production of financial reports; proper maintenance of accounting records; accurate processing of financial transactions; administration of a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results; Ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); Adhere to grants management standards which will result in flawless audits; Ensure financial health of the program by guiding the team in making sound finance decisions..
Essential Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferred) in a field related to above sectors/professions.
• 10 years relevant working experience in a field related to above sectors/professions
• Strong technical working knowledge and skills in a specific sector/profession is mandatory.
• Extensive experience working with government officials, donors and private sector stakeholders.
• Experience of managing and implementation of programs in an emergency context is preferred.
• Prior experience with US government funded programs is preferred.
