JOB DETAILS:
The Grants and Growth (Business Development) Fellow will be working at our head office in Kampala or can be remote. He, she or they will work under the overall leadership and supervision of the Director of Programs at Pollicy.

The Grants and Growth (Business Development) Fellow will support us in amplifying our work through resource mobilisation with a keen focus on our work around feminism, technology, and data. They will contribute to Pollicy’s vision and strategies focused on our business development arm. Working closely with the Director of Programs, the Fellow will be responsible for supporting the design and implementation of business development and monitoring frameworks/strategies/plans and proposals that can influence policy change and awareness of our work around data and technology. The fellowship programme is 6 months long, and full-time employment will be offered to the top performers.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
Grants and Growth 50%
1. The Fellow will provide support to identify new funding opportunities and help develop and prepare donor-specific proposal packages.
2. Support the development and review of Pollicy’s resource mobilisation and evaluation frameworks materials and supporting finance and operations teams in processing donor agreements and in the day-to-day grants management.
3. Support all administrative filing of grants, including opportunities, submissions, and ongoing projects.
4. Support the drafting and updating of Pollicy’s programmes and projects resource mobilisation and evaluation: donor reporting or internal processes while contributing to any publicity materials such as blogs on the same to aid with Pollicy’s visibility.
5. Support capacity building on different aspects of resource mobilisation for Pollicy and coordination, maintaining grants files and tracking documents (in Excel) and support in
6. scheduling and organising regular grants meetings, following the financial tracking of the grants at Pollicy.
7. The Growth Fellow will represent Pollicy in relevant business development platforms and forums as delegated by the Director of Programs.
8. Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time

Programs 50%
1. Support implementation of Pollicy projects in all countries of implementation:
1.1. Support management of project activities to ensure effective, participatory, and collaborative delivery of project results
1.2. Work closely with Pollicy partners involved in projects to ensure good communication and timely implementation of their project activities that feed directly into Pollicy projects
1. Support development of one-pager, guidelines, and other documents to support Pollicy Programs Department project work
2. Support to measure the impact of project activities in line with the internal Pollicy Feminist MEAL and donor-provided MEAL.
3. Support in the writing of regular narrative reports to update donors on the implementation progress of the project.
4. Contribute to teamwork and events, including virtual event real-time support.
5. Ensure regular reporting on the progress of his/her/their work.

Skills and Experience required
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in project management, administration, gender studies or any related field*
• Strong commitment to Pollicy’s vision, mission and values including intersectional feminism, data and technology.
• Track record in writing and editing proposals, monitoring and evaluation plans, reports and frameworks.
• Knowledge of grant making processes and procedures including project planning, evaluation, budgeting, workflow management, contracts management, grant monitoring and reporting, and document management.
• Ability to deliver oral presentations to various audiences
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• The person should have a results oriented approach and propose ways to innovate and continuously source for opportunities in liaison with the different programmes.
• Experience with Google Workspace, or a similar database management programme.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and experience working with multiple teams across departments is preferred with strong accountability and attention to detail due to the nature of the role.
