JOB DETAILS:
Engineering Ministries International (EMI) Uganda is seeking to recruit a Head Cook to join the international collaborative, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary design and construction office in Kajjansi. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong desire to walk in step with Jesus, manage meal preparation and stewardship.
Corporate background
EMI is a non-profit international Christian development organization made up of architects, engineers, land surveyors, and construction managers. Through developing facilities such as schools, medical centres, and more, EMI directly impacts communities by meeting physical needs and communicating God’s love in practical ways.
Position: Head Cook
Reports to: Assistant Operations Manager .

Required qualifications and experience
• Catering, Home Economics or other related field.
• Kitchen Management
• 2 to 3 years of experience in catering field
• Basic familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel

Required basic qualities
• Vibrant Christian faith
• High integrity, ethical and ability to manage Kitchen environment and Kitchen staff
• Excellent communication in English
• Cross-cultural team player

Primary Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Manage complete functionality and operations of a commercial kitchen
• Manage food purchase
• Manage periodic kitchen inventories
• Oversee and participate in food preparation and service
• Develop new recipes, create menu
• Manage and train kitchen staff on best practices in food preparation, and kitchen management
• Coordinate with service providers and equipment maintenance teams
• Manage kitchen evaluation surveys
