Recruitment of a Head of Human Resources
Our client is part of a Group of a key player in mobility, healthcare, consumer goods, infrastructure, and energy with presence in over 39 African countries. Their mandate is to offer complete mobility solutions and is the exclusive distributor of brand-new Toyota Vehicles and genuine parts in Uganda, as well as exclusively offers Toyota Manufacturer's warranty. Our client would like to recruit a Head of Human Resources (HRM). Reporting to the Managing Director, the HRM will be a member of the company's Senior Management Team (SMT), responsible for the overall HR activities within the company and will be responsible for supporting all Heads of Department to deal with day-to-day people management issues to achieve high standard of people and organisation performance.

Duties and responsibilities
• Collaborate with the Managing Director and provide strategic direction on people-related matters and establish human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives.
• Develop and implement Company-wide HR Programs to ensure best practices within the organisation.
• Ensure standardisation in the implementation of HR Policies and Processes across all business locations.
• Assist in defining the structural and cultural changes required by the organisation from time-to-time.
• Prepare and manage the HR department's annual plan and budget aligned to the Company's annual operating plan and long-term strategic direction.
• Collaborate with Line Managers to define headcount required, set skills and attitudes for each position including managing the Assessment Centre and Interviews in line with Group Standard
• Manage Talent and monitor implementation of the company's Succession Plan.
• Manage human resources processes and operations such as talent acquisition/recruitment and orientation.
• Provide advisory on Compensation and Benefits to ensure the company remains competitive within like operators.
• Collaborate with Line Managers to design training needs aimed at employees' consistent improvement and ensure that training budget is adequately optimized.
• Maintain professional interaction with local employees and Internal Assignees including creating and maintaining a pleasant work-place experience to encourage harmonious industrial relations.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements relating to employment, studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to the applicable laws and regulations and advising management on the same, and
• Collaborate with all departments to ensure strict compliance with HSE policies.

Qualifications and experience
• A graduate with an Honours Degree in Human Resource Management, or Organizational Psychology, or a related relevant field.
• A Master's Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
• At least 8 years' experience in human resource management in an organization that has a large workforce, with at least two (2) years at supervisory level in a similar industry or its equivalent.
• A strategist and good negotiator with excellent communication skills and ability to relate with all levels of staff and management within the organization;
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills; Excellent interpersonal and managerial skills;
•Excellent self-drive and initiative with the ability to resolve intricate talent and HR issues; and
• Excellent knowledge of the Country's Labour Law with exposure to Global HR Practices.
