Our client, a reputable commercial bank registered by Bank of Uganda is looking for experienced, professionally astute, self-motivated and committed team players. Interested applicants should possess requisite qualifications and skills to enable them carry-out the responsibilities below.

Job Title: Head of Risk

Tasks/Responsibilities:

• Developing, formulating, implementing, and updating risk management policies and procedures
• Developing limits and quantitative ratios that are compatible with the risk assumed by the Bank
• Ensuring compliance with Bank of Uganda (BOU) guidelines
•  Establishing and maintaining an effective control system for efficient operations
•  Scrutinizing the quality of Credit Risk controls and ensuring conformity with the Bank’s policies and guidelines
•  Evaluating of proposed risks to be assumed by the Bank in respect to each exposure
• Developing a data bank on industry analyses/market intelligence and modifying the overall risk profile of the Bank
• Updating the risk profile to be submitted to the Board on a quarterly basis with findings and recommendations
• Ensuring proper and timely flow of MIS and control returns as required by the Central Bank, Board and external agencies and ensuring reliable financial and regulatory reporting
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualification, Skills and Personal Specifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics and Finance with good grades from a recognized University Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIA, CIMA
•  At least 5 years banking, audit, compliance and risk management of financial institutions.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and
• knowledge of risk analysis systems
•  Knowledge of MS office applications
•  A Masters’ degree in the related fields will be an added advantage
• Transfer knowledge and provide guidance to others and work for long hours without supervision
•  Good interpersonal skills and be able to work on own initiative and as pan of a team
•  The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, self- driven and s/he should be 30 -45 years.
