Muteesa I Royal University (MRC) is a private University that was accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (UNCHE) in 2007. its Main Campus is situated in Kirumba Masaka, with other campuses in Mubende and Mengo Kakeeka. The mission of the MRU is to provide an effective and efficient setting for the development of intellectually dynamic individuals, principled and resource l professionals and practitioners. MRU is seeking to recruit highly motivated, innovative and committed candidates to fill the positions highlighted below:

Manager Human Resource
Reports to: Deputy We Chancellor Finance and Administration Role definition: To develop and implement strategies and policies tor attracting and retaining talented, motivated human resource and create a work environment that enables employees acquire competences that are required to deliver their services effectively in line with the University Strategic objectives.

Key result areas/responsibilitles:

  • Develop, review and implement the Human Resource operational
  • Conduct an annual Human resource skills audit, approve of recruitment, selection, induction and placement of stall‘ in the University according the HR policies
  • Develop and disseminate policies and procedure for managing human resources and train/coach line managers in to use them in the 2. daily operations.
  • Prepare and administer the Human Resource Plan and Budget departmental vacant positions and monitor the implementation
  • Develop and implement a University’s performance management 3 system and monitor the administration of the performance appraisal tools by the various supervisors on quarterly basis.
  • Develop tools to implement and monitor the pay structure, salary increments and advise on salary increments based on salary surveys
  • Develop career and guidance and counseling framework tor the University employees in line with the HR policy
  • Conduct staff capacity needs assessment in all University departments, and develop and implement a Human
  • Resource Development and retooling plan according to the approved strategic plan
    identify mission critical positions in all units of the University, identity staff with potential to perform in those position and design a mentorship and coaching plan to strengthen their capacity in line with talent development objectives
  • Segment the worker force in different categories based on capacity to perform and to increasingly taking on more challenging and leadership roles
  • Design and monitor the implementation of on-boarding program (staff orientation) for new staff to enable staff-awareness of the University programs and working conditions

Qualification and experience

  • The applicant should hold a Masters degree in Human Resource Management or Organizational Psychology or Organizational Development or MBA (HR options).
  • A qualification and broad working knowledge of the employment and labour laws is an added advantage.
    a minimum of three years experience in Human Resource Management
  • High level of integrity
  • Possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skis.
