Job Purpose
To build a strong, reputable and trusted “brand” that positions NCBA Uganda as a leading digital first, innovative brand amongst our target markets through a combination of inspirational (and emotional) brand messaging and communication strategies that reinforce the brand values across assigned Business Units.
The role holder is to deliver and maintain a positive public image and reputation for NCBA through seamless execution of all events/ sponsorship initiatives within the MCC unit.
The incumbent must provide strategic direction, leadership and management of NCBA brand programs across the assigned Business Units. This requires a strong ability to forge relationships with Business Unit Heads, manage the execution and monitor and evaluate results with sound recommendations.
The Manager MCC leads and works collaboratively with their brand support team for all business units. To ensure the effective and efficient execution of strategies and initiatives in collaboration with Business Teams and in line with the overall Corporate brand and brand promise.
The Manager MCC is responsible for formulating and developing initiatives that support brand marketing and product support programs/campaigns to support and drive the business’s overall objectives. These deliverables should be distinctive, consistent and powerful leveraging a mix of design and production work in both offline and online brand marketing strategies and approaches.
The Manager MCC also monitors and enforces brand usage guidelines and applies project management practices in overseeing the execution of brand programs for the assigned Business Units.
The Manager MCC works to influence positive consumer brand experiences and the business’s revenue achievement through enhanced consumer acquisition and retention. The role holder is also responsible for aligning the organizational corporate strategy with the brand strategy.
The Manager MCC is also a senior resource within the overall MCC Department and is therefore expected to embody a leadership posture that guides and inspires members of the overall team.
Key Accountabilities Financial:
• Responsibility for Budget planning, control and expense management objectives by assigned Business Unit.
• Manage the budgets for assigned areas and ensure adherence to Finance / Procurement processes and systems.
• Ensure that ROI is measured, delivered and learnings captured to ensure continuous improvement.
Internal business processes:
Competitor Benchmarking:
• Managing robust competitor tracking systems to remain abreast of the market and the players. In line with this, identifying and analyzing new offerings from other banks in the marketplace proactively.
Adherence to Corporate Brand Standards:
• Communicating across the business as a champion of the company’s brand guidelines, solidifying partnerships with business unit leaders to secure brand identity and maintain brand integrity.
• Reviewing and enhancing all communication materials and collateral within the business to ensure adherence and consistency to the overall Brand Positioning, Values and Identity Standards
• Monitoring the continual implementation of the Brand Standards across all the Bank’s touchpoints
MCC Team and Inter-Business Service Level Agreements (SLA’s):
• Convening regular action/progress review meetings with colleagues in MCC and internal customers, to update on progress and to ensure targets/milestones of planned activities are being achieved on time.
• Receiving and responding to all marketing requests about campaigns and product promotions and other related activities 3rd Party Service Provider SLA’s:
• Manage agency partners and ensure contracts and SLA’s are in place and in custody of Legal
• Procurement & Finance Adherence:
• MCC Brand Team adherence to NCBA Bank Procurement processes with zero breach. This includes PAR Management, invoicing, and billing processes
• Adherence to approved budgets with full alignment with respective business units
• Audit Items
• Supervise and ensure that MCC team adheres to the NCBA Bank Audit Policy.
• Ensure audit issues are closed within the quarter of identification, or within the agreed time frames, whichever is shorter with nil repeat findings.
• RCSA
• Supervise and ensure that the team updates and submits the Quarterly RCSA updates.
• Ensure all risks and their relevant controls are put in place and updated on the online portal especially for flagship programs.
• MCC Process Improvements:
• Be an advocate for continually improving way of working within the team to drive efficient and impactful engagement and accurate delivery of service.
• Proactively participate in organization projects.
Customer:
• Technical skills to effectively perform brand management activities/tasks, in a manner that consistently achieves a high-performance result, quality standards and/or benchmarks.
• Be the brand expert. Oversight for programs to ensure bank-wide understanding, acceptance and adherence of the Brand Values and Brand Standards
• Leadership in managing the development and execution of the annual marketing and brand programs for the assigned brands or product lines, to ensure growth in awareness and market share.
• Providing strategic brand leadership and planning to drive all brand initiatives
• (brand development, brand transition, brand awareness, brand growth)
• Working closely with agency partners to develop ATL or BTL initiatives to support business initiatives
• Working with analytics to identify key consumer insights to strengthen the development and execution of campaigns in conjunction with the overall marketing campaign
• Leading cross-functional teams, both representing operations and businesses, to ensure full scope of brand integration is considered and included in the project plan. Must be able to mobilize and lead a team of stakeholders to achieve goals and objectives.
• Work collaboratively with the MCC team to bring the approved marketing programs to life i.e. Events, Digital Marketing, Communications, PR support, etc.
• Translate the brand strategy into brand plans, communication plans and go-tomarket strategies for assigned business units and product lines.
• Leading the creative development for campaigns and create motivating stimulus to get the targeted population to “take action”
• Over and above supporting the above-mentioned Business Units, there will be additional projects that will need to be championed to ensure the overall brand equity and awareness objectives for the Brand are achieved. These include bankwide Marketing projects, Customer Experience initiatives, acquisition, and retention programs, etc.

Person Specification
Education, Training, Skills & Experience Academic:
• University degree, preferably in Marketing, Advertising or Business Management.
• Relevant professional qualification in Marketing would be an advantage.
Professional:
• Proficiency in use of MS Office – PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MS Project etc.
• Proven ability to develop brand and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
• Possesses strategic thinking skills, creativity, persuasiveness, results orientation, assertiveness, and tenacity to sell ideas
• Experienced marketing and branding background and intimate knowledge of consumer insights.
