On behalf of our client Mota-Engil Uganda, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Planning & Cost Control Manager to work in Uganda.
Position: Planning & Cost Control Manager.
Department: Planning &Control.

Job summary:
The Planning & Cost Control Manager will be responsible for developing, planning, implementing, reconciling, and maintaining valuable project control databases and reports for projects.

Key roles and responsibilities.
• Responsible for the operation of project, Planning and Scheduling, cost engineering, manpower planning & control and management reporting.
• Coordinates with estimating unit and finance & accounting department in establishing a project chart of accounts of the awarded contract.
• Preparation of project schedule after contract award.
• Timely allocation, distribution, and assessment of manpower resources to project in accordance with qualifications and skills requirements.
• Monitors and evaluate project cost/Man-hour performance on a weekly and monthly basis and prepare Executive summary reports to top management.
• Prepares project operational budget is broken down based on work breakdown structures, showing each cost element (Labour, material & equipment) and assigning cost, centres and codes covering indirect and direct cost distribution.
• Prompt monitoring and reporting project manpower census, movements, and utilization.
• Periodic Analysis of project manpower requirements project against available resources to be able to initiate the company sourcing arrangements with project management and/or personnel requisitions by the Human Resource department.
• Analysing cost and revenue and organising cost control progress reports on the project.
• Monitoring, reporting, and forecasting project plans

Qualifications, Skills, and Education required.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 7 plus years of proven work experience with project documentation from project briefs to tender documents.
• Experience working on large international construction projects is a must
• Strong aptitude for learning and implementing planning and allocation systems and process
• Advanced knowledge and expertise in engineering software in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS project
• International certification in project management is a must
• Experience working on international construction projects is an added advantage.
• Ability to work in a team.
