JOB DETAILS:
The Program Officer will provide programmatic, administrative, financial and logistical support required for the program. This includes assisting with program grants-related tasks, supporting preparation of budgets and collation of grant documents. This is a contract position and is renewable annually based on availability of funding and scope of work.

Specific Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and support program, financial, contractual, monitoring, and administrative functions of the GHSA team such that activities are implemented according to plans and in a timely fashion
• Assist with the preparation, monitoring and tracking of project budgets under guidance from the Program Manager/Senior Finance Officer Ensure that the required technical, administrative and financial program reports are submitted in a timely fashion
• Assist program and administrative staff and consultants to produce letters, documents, reports and presentations and materials for distribution (including word processing, basic data analysis, photocopying, etc.)
• Facilitate the procurement and management of consultants, supplies and program assets required for project implementation
• Support the Finance and Grants team in tracking and maintaining expenditure records for both program and grantees
• Assist program teams in drafting, proofreading technical materials and finalizing and updating program activity reports, activity charts, annual reports and other project documents
• Assist with the organization of meetings, field visits, and other project activities
• Assist with maintaining the project management calendar and keeping it up to date
• Assist with gathering technical updates for program planning, training, components of evaluations and other studies on related programs, including documenting project lessons learnt
• Support the Uganda team in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports and work plans including ensuring that they are in JEMS/PMM/JPTT system as necessary
• Maintain a program filing system - both electronic and hard copy for the office and ensure that final documents program and grants documents are appropriately saved and organized in SharePoint, and other Jhpiego tools
• Perform other programmatic and administrative duties as assigned by supervisor to ensure smooth functioning and achievement of project goals as required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in health sciences, nursing, Public Health, health sciences or a related field
• Relevant certificates in data analytics are an added advantage

Skills & Experience
• At least two years of related experience, at the national level, in health management information systems
• At least two years of experience in working with donor-funded programs and teams
• Knowledge and experience of integrated disease surveillance and reporting (IDSR) guidelines and operating mechanisms is an added advantage
• Experience in supporting diverse teams
• Proven ability to multitask across various planning and implementation processes within a highly demanding environment.
• Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English.
• Ability and willingness to travel to field locations
