TITLE: PROJECT OFFICER - EDUCATION
DUTY STATION: Kampala with 60% of the time in the project site
EMPLOYMENT BASIS: Full-time for 1 year and subject to a 3 month probation period.

Project summary:
The Digital Assessments and School Improvement Plans to enhance Education Resilience in Uganda project ( EDU-Q Up!) under the Wehubit programme financed by Enabel; with the aim to provide schools with skills and knowledge for self-assessment to generate a process of continuous education quality improvement, by using a digital tool for evidence-based feedback of quality assurance officers, discussion on outcomes of assessment and joint action planning. The project will be implemented in 200 schools in the districts of Luwero, Nakaseke, Nakasongola, Apac and Kwania districts.
The Project Officer - Education will be responsible for ensuring effective implementation of the project’s activities, overseeing project work-plan performance and task assigned to attain goals and objectives of the EDU Q Up project.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management and support: Implementation of project activities will be the primary responsibility of the PO, in line with the project purpose, among which include: working with the CPTCs, the schools, the district education offices and school management committees. The PO is required to actively participate in the planning processes and coordinating activities in all the intervention CPTCs, schools, including but not limited to:
2. Finance and reporting:
▪ Submit timely requisition and accountability for project expenditures in the field in line with the budget lines.
▪ Support in sourcing out service providers and ensure collection of relevant documents (e.g., quotations).
▪ Support in the timely preparations and submission of field trip reports.
3. Monitoring and Evaluation: Actively monitor programmes/projects through field visits and exchange information with stakeholders to assess progress, identify bottlenecks and potential problems, and take timely decisions to resolve issues and/or refer to relevant officials for timely resolution.
4. Networking and partnership building: Build and sustain effective close working partnerships with relevant stakeholders through active networking, advocacy and effective communication to build capacity, exchange knowledge/expertise and to reinforce cooperation to achieve sustainable and broad results on education programmes related to the project.

Minimum qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Education and other social sciences. Additional qualifications will be an added advantage
Experience and Knowledge
• minimum of 4 years working experience preferable with NGOs especially in development and education projects.
• Knowledge of the project areas and willingness to make frequent movement (60% of total time) in the project districts
Competence skills
• Computer skills (Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint) and ability to use virtual platforms, it could formulated like: agility in using current software packages, tools, management information systems and digital platforms.
• Strong report writing skills and Knowledge of project management cycle.
• High-level communication skills, stakeholder and partnership management skills,
• Able to work with wide range of internal and external stakeholders and to foster and maintain successful working relationships.
