JOB DETAILS:

The Quality Improvement Officer will effectively plan and coordinate activities to build the capacity of
site teams and Partners to implement regional and national Quality Improvement plans and strategies.

Specific tasks:

• Work with the district structures including DQIs to develop QI workplans and budgets.
• Plan and coordinate QI coaching, mentorships, and supervision at cluster level.
• Plan, coordinate and attend QI site monthly meetings.
• Support work improvement teams to routinely review data and update running QI projects.
• Regularly provide coaching & technical support to facility teams to institute changes and evidencebased practices to improve key performance indicators.
• Identify training needs, build the capacity of site coaches and DQIs to implement CQI coaching.
• Conduct learning sessions and performance reviews to harvest success stories and lessons learnt.
• Work with site teams to develop abstracts for various conferences.
• Consolidate the CQI section of the district quarterly reports.
• Maintain an updated CQI database for the cluster.
• Institutionalize use of the audit tool at district and site level to ensure planning and provision of all
• services for all clients.
• Coordinate client feedback surveys and RCAs.
• Institutionalize principles of 5S at the health facilities and community.
• Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Person Specifications)
• A bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing. Master’s in Public Health or Health related field will
• be an added advantage.
• At least three years’ experience in Health services management in a USAID project setting will
• be an added advantage.
• At least three years’ experience in supporting teams to apply Quality Improvement approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to use the audit tools is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft excel, word, power point and share point
• Excellent oral and writing skills.
• Familiar with basic technology including managing virtual meetings
