Mildmay Uganda is a Christian NGO that offers General and HIV/ AIDS medical services also providing technical support for Ministry of Health Systems to scale up comprehensive HIV/AIDS Services. Mildmay Uganda is also an accredited Institution of Higher Learning offering academic and short courses in health care.

Mildmay Uganda is running projects within central Uganda through which it is implementing evidence based health systems strengthening interventions aimed at accelerating HIV epidemic control. Mildmay Uganda is, therefore, looking for competent, innovative, and highly motivated individuals to join our team for the following position:

Reproductive, Maternal and Child Health Specialist
Reports to: Deputy Director Programs

Job Summary: Will provide technical and programmatic leadership in project strategy and implementation of the RMCH programs to ensure improved quality of life for children and adolescents infected and affected by HIV

Job Requirements: The successful applicant will uphold the Christian ethos of Mildmay Uganda. S/he must have;

• Bachelors degree in Nursing with post graduate qualification in Public Health or management sciences
• Must be registered with the relevant professional body/council Job related experience, knowledge and skills:
• At least 5 years’ experience in the field of primary health care with in-depth technical knowledge of implementing maternal and child health, family planning, or related programs.
• Demonstrated experience in managing donor-funded projects and in the design and implementation of health projects
•  Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at senior-level, particularly interacting with government agencies, NGOs, private sector groups, and donor organizations
•  Knowledge of Ministry of Health systems/district health service delivery

Person Specifications:

• Demonstrated subject matter expertise in Maternal and Child Health care,
• Technical proficiency in design, implementation, and M&E for similar projects/programs
• Dynamic systems thinking, high taste for innovation, and continuous quality improvement
• Strong leadership, analytical and organizational skills.

Other qualities for all positions are: Good communication (oral and written) skills, teaching/presentation skills; Analytical/Decision making skills; Problem solving skills; proficiency in various MS office packages. Committed to quality and excellence, and holding the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality. Must be flexible, reliable, and in sympathy with the Christian values of Mildmay Uganda.
