Background
Makerere University Lung Institute (MLI) is a center of excellence for Lung Health in the College of Health Sciences, Makerere University. Our mission is lung health research that integrates disease prevention, clinical care and training in sub-Saharan Africa. Leaving no- one behind: transforming Gendered pathways to Health for TB (LIGHT) is a six-year cross- disciplinary global health research programme funded by UK aid, led by Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine working with partners in Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Uganda and the UK. LIGHT aims to provide new evidence on the effectiveness of different gender-sensitive pathways and approaches to health for those with TB in urban, HIV-prevalent settings. The initiative will contribute to improved health, socio-economic and equity outcomes and efforts to stop the spread of TB.
Job Summary
The Research Facilitator will be responsible for field data collection including participant enrollment, data management & analysis activities.
Roles and responsibilities.
• Review health facility records and abstract data
• Identify and recruit study participants
• Consent study participants and properly document its process
• Administer questionnaires and accurately collect data
• Participate in data cleaning and verification
• Participate in co-design workshops, key informant interviews and verbatim transcription of interview recordings
• Participate in data analysis
• Preparation of progress reports
• Any other activities as assigned by the Principal Investigator
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in medical discipline
• Good Clinical Practices (GCP) certificate
• Proven computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic data collection tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Research experience is an added advantage
