Our primary market is Uganda, with a goal to acquire 10 new clients annually.
Job Summary
Zimba Technologies is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Salesperson to drive business growth in Uganda’s microfinance sector. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of B2B software sales, particularly in financial technology (fintech) or microfinance software. This role is responsible for prospecting, qualifying, and closing deals with Microfinance Institutions (MFIs), achieving a target of 20 new client acquisitions per year.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Planning
• Develop and execute a sales plan to meet and exceed the target of 20 new client acquisitions annually.
• Identify potential clients within the MFI sector and prioritize sales efforts accordingly.
• Stay informed on market trends, competitors, and client needs to refine the sales strategy.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
• Identify and build relationships with decision-makers in target MFIs.
• Conduct client needs assessments and product demonstrations to showcase the value of Zimba’s back-office software and lending capabilities.
• Develop customized proposals, presentations, and sales pitches tailored to client needs.
• Maintain strong post-sale relationships to ensure client satisfaction and long-term engagement.
Lead Generation & Pipeline Management
• Actively source new leads through networking, referrals, online research, and attendance at industry events and conferences.
• Maintain an organized sales pipeline using CRM tools to track prospects, leads, and client engagement.
• Ensure timely follow-ups on leads to maintain an active and healthy sales pipeline.
Sales Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales performance reports.
• Track and analyze sales metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize sales activities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• New Client Acquisition: Secure 20 new MFI clients annually.
• Revenue Growth: Contribute to overall revenue targets as assigned.
• Pipeline Management: Maintain an active and balanced sales pipeline.
• Client Engagement: Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
Qualifications & Experience
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Experience selling to MFIs or financial institutions is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of microfinance sector operations and the financial services industry.

• Sales Skills: Proven ability to identify leads, engage clients, and close deals.
• Product Knowledge: Ability to understand and clearly articulate software capabilities and value propositions.
• Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Relationship Management: Ability to establish trust and build long-term client relationships.
• Negotiation Skills: Skilled in managing objections and negotiating win-win deals.
• Adaptability: Flexible approach to working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
