On behalf of our client Mota-Engil Uganda, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Senior Auto Electrician to work in Uganda.

Position: – Senior Auto Electrician.
Department: Equipment Maintenance.

Job summary:
The Senior Auto Electrician will be responsible for installing, repairing, wiring, and sustaining all electrical mechanisms found in different vehicles. S/he will test what is essential to bring automobiles up to their best working condition.

Key roles and responsibilities.
• Maintain and repair various kinds of petrol and diesel engine motor vehicles.
• Highly capable of troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing damaged/faulty fuses, lamps, electrical wiring, and ignitions.
• Always ensure that standard preventive measure is applied when maintenance is done on all electrical equipment
• Regularly carry out troubleshooting and electrical checks on all operating systems
• Lead the team that performs the duty of replacing faulty generators, starter motors, and alternators
• Responsible for ensuring all activities pertaining to installing alternators, gauges, and lighting
• Jointly responsible with departmental heads in checking all equipment, vehicles, machines, and operating devices before the end of the day’s job
• Always developing new ways to ensure that all mechanical and electrical repairing problems are done with positive results
• Apply safety measures when operating on machines or equipment that contains high voltage.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities from time to time as may be assigned by your immediate supervisor in accordance with your job roles

Qualifications, Skills, and Education required.
• Higher national diploma in electrical engineering or Certificates in a related field with at least 5 years of experience handling plant maintenance on international construction projects will be considered in lieu of the Higher national diploma in electrical engineering.
• 15 Years of relevant work experience in Auto Electrician and maintenance management of which 5 years in a senior electrical position.
• 5 years of experience working with international construction projects is an added advantage.
• Highly skilful in repairing and servicing electronic and automotive-controlled vehicle system faults
• Proven ability to perform installation, repairs, and maintenance of auto-electrical machines
• Sound ability to interpret and understand electrical wiring diagrams
• Strong knowledge and understanding of technical details, terminology of the electrical trade, and tools
• Well-grounded in the knowledge of electrical theories and principles
• Strong ability to work under stressful conditions, and to handle problems as they arise
• Highly creative and innovative
• Excellent with schematics and sketches when working on the newly developed project
• Vast knowledge of adjusting timing and engine control systems
• Highly capable of troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing damaged/faulty fuses, lamps, electrical wiring, and ignitions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
