Job Title: SENIOR DATABASE MANAGEMENT OFFICER 1 post
Reports to: Deputy Director General, Agricultural Technology Promotion
Salary Grade: UR4

JOB PURPOSE:
To collect, organize, store and enable users access to the organizations information through designing, developing, implementing and maintaining organizational database systems.

Minimum qualifications, experience and desired attributes

• Applicants should be Ugandans holding a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or information technology/systems from a recognized university. Possession of a master's degree will be an added advantage. 
• A minimum of four years of demonstrable experience as a database applications developer or Administrator; demonstrable success in developing a variety of software systems while taking on increasing responsibility for analysis, design, implementation and development tasks using varying SDLC methodologies like Waterfall and RUP, J2EE, Visual Basic, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSP, XML, C++, PL/SOL, and Oracle/SOL Server databases. 
• Advanced experience in developing data-driven applications utilizing significant relational database engines as part of the overall application architecture (experience with either PostgreSQL or MySQL is required and any of the following highly desirable; Oracle, MS SOL Sewer, H2 SOL). 
• Demonstrable working experience using most of the following: Spring, Hibernate, JQuery, Subversion, Restful web services, agile methodology, Maven, Jasper sewer, android SDK. 
• Advanced knowledge and skill with popular open source programming languages JAVA and PHP 5 and PHP 7. 
• Demonstrable skills in enterprise application integration. 
• Strong leadership skills and demonstrable ability to work successfully as a member of a team. 
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
