On behalf of our client Mota-Engil-Uganda, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to work in Uganda.

Position: Senior Electrical Engineer.
Department: Equipment Maintenance

Job summary:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for providing expert technical input and organizational input to electrical engineering activities on a wide range of projects from studies and design, to troubleshooting, commissioning, and decommissioning

Key roles and responsibilities
• Preparation of electrical drawings and specifications for renovation and new construction projects.
• Responsible for the design of electrical and power systems for the development project during the conceptual and basic engineering phases.
• Preparation of engineering studies for the site and building assessments and recommendations for repairs and upgrades.
• Overall, in-charge of maintenance & troubleshooting activities for electrical equipment
• Lead a team of Electrical Engineers, Technical Officers & Technicians in all activities.
• Coach, motivate, and develop junior professionals and share knowledge with the team.
• Work closely with relevant teams for procurement of spare parts, equipment & Health, and Safety
• Supervise project works for electrical and conduct safety inspections in the plant.
• Oversee the design, selection, configuration, maintenance, and documentation of all electrical systems at the refinery to support optimum unit operations while minimizing environmental excursions and safety events.
• Assist plant maintenance groups in troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment and systems and provide training as needed to assure uninterrupted refinery operation.

Qualifications, Skills, and Education required.
• Higher national diploma in electrical engineering or Certificates in a related field with at least 5 years of experience handling plant maintenance on international construction projects will be considered in lieu of the Higher national diploma in electrical engineering.
• 15 years of experience in a power plant, chemical plant, or industrial plant dealing with mechanical equipment including boilers and combustion process, turbines, heat exchangers, condensers, coal handling equipment, compressors, fans, pumps, and ash handling systems, and electrical equipment including generators, transformers, power distribution equipment, motors, and electrical protection systems.
• 5 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry is an added advantage.
• Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proven track record of developing and delivering innovative client technical solutions
• Ability to keep track of and report on activity.
• Experience in planning maintenance operations.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SAP, Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
